Community guidelines · India

Travel together,
with care.

These guidelines set expectations for everyone on The Missing Alien and give practical steps for meeting or travelling with someone new. Women's safety is a priority. Every member must respect another person's boundaries, choices and right to leave.

A human reviews submitted profile details and photos before approval. This is limited screening, not a background check, identity guarantee or promise of safe behaviour. Treat a verified badge as a starting point for conversation, not a reason to skip your own judgment.

01 / First priority

Women decide their own boundaries.

A match, accepted trip request, offered ride, paid expense or content collaboration never creates an obligation to meet, share accommodation, drink, be photographed, or accept physical or sexual attention.

Keep control of the plan

Speak before meeting. Choose a public first meeting, preferably in daylight, and plan your own arrival and way home. Confirm who is going, the route, overnight stay and costs before committing. Separate accommodation or transport is a valid choice.

Pressure is a reason to pause

You may change your mind or leave at any point. If someone pushes for your exact address, a private first meeting, a last-minute route or room change, secrecy, alcohol, or moving the conversation off the platform, stop and reassess. You do not owe an explanation.

Stay connected to your people

Share your itinerary and check-in times with a trusted person. Keep your phone charged and enough money to make your own arrangements. Do not post your live location, hotel room or personal documents publicly.

02 / Practical checklist

Before you go.

These steps are useful for every member, even when a profile has been approved and a chat feels comfortable.

  1. Meet in public first.Get to know the person or group in a public place. A video call can help you discuss plans, but it does not prove identity or intent.
  2. Agree on the actual trip.Confirm dates, route, transport, accommodation, group size, activities, costs and who pays. If the plan changes materially, decide again whether you want to join.
  3. Tell someone you trust.Share the route and expected check-in times with a trusted contact. Keep a way to reach them and a backup way home.
  4. Keep control of essentials.Hold on to your own phone, ID, money and bookings. Avoid sending deposits to a new acquaintance without independently checking what you are paying for.
03 / Member conduct

Rules for travelling together.

These apply to profiles, trips, messages, meetups and conduct connected to the community.

Be an adult and be honest

Members must be 18 or older. Use your own identity and recent photos. Do not misstate your age, location, trip details, group size or intentions.

Respect a no

No repeated contact after a decline or block, including through Instagram or another account. Do not pressure anyone into a ride, room, payment, alcohol, photographs or intimacy.

No harassment or exploitation

Threats, stalking, sexual harassment, non-consensual contact or images, hate, discrimination, blackmail, scams and requests for OTPs or sensitive documents are prohibited.

Keep plans and money clear

Alien Circles are for genuine plans, not spam, recruiting, paid lead generation or concealed commercial trips. Describe costs and changes clearly. The Missing Alien does not hold payments or arrange bookings.

We may reject, hide, suspend or remove profiles or trips that appear unsafe, misleading, abusive or inconsistent with these rules. A report helps moderation review an issue, but review is not instantaneous and cannot replace police or emergency services.

04 / If something goes wrong

Get help in the right place.

Prioritise your immediate safety and preserve relevant messages or booking details when it is safe to do so.

Immediate danger in India

Move toward a public place or people who can help, if possible. Call the national emergency response system for police, medical or other urgent help.

Call 112

Violence or harassment against women

The National Commission for Women lists a 24×7 helpline for women affected by violence. This is support and referral, not the site's moderation channel.

Call 14490 NCW online complaint

Online abuse or extortion

For cybercrime, including online harassment or image-based abuse, use the Government of India's reporting portal. Use 112 first if there is immediate danger.

National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal

Report a member here

Approved members can use the Report profile or Block profile controls on a member's connection card. Include useful context. Do not wait for site moderation if you need urgent help.

Find member profiles

The Missing Alien helps people discover each other. It is not a tour operator, emergency service, insurer, background-check provider, or payment intermediary. Public agencies and local emergency services are independent of this website.

Blocking and shared circles

Blocking hides your member profiles, photos and direct conversations from each other while signed in. Messages from either blocked account are hidden from the other in shared circles. Blocking does not remove either person from an existing circle, settle expenses, or undo information already seen. A host can remove a member; you can leave the circle or report a concern. Public invitation pages and blurred community previews remain public, including when someone signs out.
